Who can Teach? – Blog post from Tanya Moore
Anyone!
One of the principles of Inner Spark Education is ‘Everyone is a student and a teacher’. This is about empowering each other to be the best we can be and recognising that everyone has something to offer, both as a student and a teacher.
Everyone has knowledge and experience that they can share with another person. I hear so many people say they are not able to teach or they are not a very good teacher, yet sharing knowledge can come very naturally.
Recently a friend said: ’I’m not qualified to teach’, after someone had asked him to teach Krav Maga. This is a form of martial arts, which he is very passionate about and puts a lot of time into.
I heard someone else say: ‘I would make a rubbish teacher’, then she went on to very clearly explain how to juggle!
There is so much knowledge available to us, in the form of books, videos and online material – we live in the information age, with information everywhere. Also, there are many people who have a lot of knowledge about a particular subject, one of them is probably you!
Sharing this knowledge with someone else does 3 things
- It deepens your own understanding
- It may be useful to the person you are teaching it to
- It is paying it forward!
What knowledge can you share?
