PIF Flash Mob Update for Flash Mob Coordinators
Hey Fellow Coordinators,
Would you believe that there is just under 2 months to go until our amazing Globally Coordinated Flash Mob on 28th March, and to say that we are a little bit excited is a bit of an understatement really
On 3rd January 2012, the idea to hold this Global Event was born and discussed, and since then, we now have a Flash Mob taking place on EVERY CONTINENT in the world. Thank you for believing in our vision and coming on board, and hopefully, we can now provide you with a few tips that you can use to promote your event – but not only that, hopefully a few things that you can also use to promote what you do in your life as well.
Many people have come forward with a few questions, so we are going to do our best to answer them all now
Q: I don’t know that many people – how do I get the attendance up for my event?
A: There is a saying that goes something like your value is determined by the 5 people closest to you. Invite them to your event AND send them a message asking them to then do the same. We never know who we know who knows someone and that is the beauty of our Circle’s of Influence. We sometimes do not realize how many people we can come into contact with when we just ask people for their help and assistance.
Q: People don’t seem to be responding to my posts. What can I do?
A: In marketing, we are taught that people generally respond after seeing our adverts and posts for business an average of 7 times. So, in other words, before they buy from you (or take up your invite) most people need to see something at least 7 times. HOWEVER, something that we are not taught is this – people generally only take notice of 1 in 3 posts that you make. So in other words, for someone to actively notice something 7 times, we need to post or comment or display it an average of 27 times. Sometimes, it is this small difference that makes people’s projects take off – they don’t give up because they know this small fact. So keep posting, keep inviting and keep commenting. Think about adverts in newspapers, on buses and the like – how many times do we see them over and over again and then realize that we are taking notice of them? The same applies for your businesses as well if you are in business – never give up !
Q: How do I get people to take notice more?
A: Share WHY you are a part of this vision. Share WHY you decided to join and coordinate one of the Flash Mobs. People don’t buy WHAT we do, they buy WHY we do things. The reason we came up with this is because books changed our lives and gave us something to keep going and Pay It Forward was something that happened to us that made us realize that the world was not a bad place. That is WHY we are helping spread this message and offering our time and services to an amazing project by an amazing man. Share your WHY with people and they have a reason to come on board.
Q: Can I approach media and the like?
A: YES ! Definitely. We have a general press release that has kindly been drawn up by a member and if you would like a copy, please do not hesitate to let us know and we will get it across to you. The more people that here about this, the better.
Q: What else can I do to spread the word?
A: If you have a blog, blog about it. If you have a Facebook page, share about it. If you are a member of a social group, talk about it. If you are on any other social media networks, tell them about it. The more creative we get as a team, the more people we can reach with our message. Networking meetings are also a great place to share the message as well. Posting links on your website to the event generates interest as well and if you are involved in Newsletters or publications of any sort, feel free to put something in them too.
So, hopefully this has answered some of the questions that have come in, and if you have any others, please, please, please come forward and ask them – your question may be the one that everyone else is not too sure of asking.
Again, thank you so much for joining us in this vision, and lets continue to spread the word and get even more people on board. If you know of anyone else around the world who would like to coordinate one for us, you now know how simple it really is to get on up and running and we would love to hear from them. Our aim is to have a Flash Mob taking place in EVERY TIME ZONE – just imagine, 24 hours of people hearing about PIF around the world – how amazing would that be?
Until next time, keep sharing, keep inviting and keep posting.
With gratitude and PIF’ness
Charley, Toni, Jeroen and Gareth
Your Flash Mob Team
P.S. Your challenge for today – post the video and also the link to your event on your Facebook Page !!!
P.P.S. Also, if you have yet to confirm your Flash Mob Location, please send us the details so that we can update the list and create your Facebook event, as there are still some outstanding locations that, once they are added to the list, will give everyone an indication of how huge this already is.
