Great Pay it Forward story that spans over 2 years

I received 2 pay-it forward bracelets from 2 students a couple of years ago after they graduated from Oak Harbor High School, where I am the Athletic Director. The students gave the PIF  Bracelets to every faculty member. I gave one to a student a year ago but still have the second one. After a recent football game at our home stadium 6 students from the opposing school, Snohomish High School (From Snohomish, WA) cleaned the visitor grandstand and then came over and cleaned the home grandstand.

This was not small job as our stadium seats 3000 people and we almost filled the stadium that night. As you can also imagine with food being served cleaning up after a football game can be a messy job. These 6 students did not think twice about the magnitude of the job. There were not many of us left in the stadium but the Head Football Coach, Cheer Coach, the custodial staff and myself saw these students cleaning up and we were all very  impressed with their act of kindness. We contacted their principal and athletic director to let them know what they did and how impressed we all were. At the time I wanted to give them more recognition but as I stated the event was over and most people were gone.

When I returned home that evening I saw the “Pay It Forward” bracelet  on my dresser and thought I wish I had more of these to give the 6 SHS students and to give to our students at Oak Harbor High School when they give back or help someone in need. I would like to have some of the bracelets on hand to promote the “Pay It Forward” movement and encourage everyone to pay it forward.

Awesome…maybe ask the announcer/guy who calls the plays to give them a SHOUT OUT at the next game…at that stadium…we pay a few bucks and it goes to the band but it SPEAKS volumes!!
